Stephen Amell in 'Fifty Shades of Grey'? 'Arrow' star 'had a meeting' for Christian Grey
According to a video post on his Facebook page, Amell says he "had a meeting about" the role. While he doesn't reveal much more than that it's pretty obvious he wants to keep fans talking about the idea.
"I get questions about Christian Grey all the time," he says in the post. "That project is a long way off. I know this, because I had a meeting about it. Long way off. I mean, not that long, but not close. I wouldn't call it long, but I wouldn't call it close."
OK then. Consider this the opposite of "Harry Potter" star Emma Watson's Twitter post on the rumors she might play "Fifty" female lead Anastasia Steele.
While Universal is working on the big screen adaptation of E.L. James' erotica sensation, the studio has so far announced a screenwriter -- Kelly Marcel ("Terra Nova") -- but no director yet. Since the selection of a director is likely to happen before any cast is announced, we can probably look forward to many more months of "Fifty Shades" casting rumors still to come.
Amell's fellow CW star Ian Somerhalder ("The Vampire Diaries") has also been frequently mentioned to play Grey, but are either one of them actually right for the job? Check out a few of our suggestions for who should play Christian and Anastasia.
