Stephen Colbert joins Neil Patrick Harris in 'Company' musical

stephen-colbert-singing.jpgComedy Central is not enough for Stephen Colbert. The "Colbert Report" funny-man has signed on to take the stage alongside "How I Met Your Mother's" Neil Patrick Harris.

The two will star in the New York Philharmonic's production of "Company." NPH nabbed the lead role of Robert in the production, while Colbert is slated to play Harry, the New York Times reports.

Also signed on to perform is Anika Noni Rose, who voiced the first African-American Disney princess in 2009's "The Princess and the Frog." She will portray Marta in the Stephen Sondheim musical.

The cast is also set to include Martha Plimpton as Colbert's wife, Patti LuPone and Jim Walton.

The New York show will run April 7 to 9 at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, in Avery Fisher Hall.

Colbert has already shown off his musical chops in television specials, such as "A Colbert Christmas." Do you think this will be his only foray into stage production, or will he be bitten by the theatre bug?
