Deadline reports the 16-year-old actor will play a smart young resident of a small New England town who is more than a little concerned when the entire town is sealed off from the rest of the world by an giant dome without any warning or explanation.

The 13-episode series is expected to premiere this summer on CBS and the pilot will be directed by Niels Arden Oplev ("The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo") and written by Brian K. Vaughan ("Lost").

Ford played Matt Damon's rebellious son in "Zoo" and the young Sam Winchester in five episodes of "Supernatural." He also recently guest starred on FOX's "The Mob Doctor" and NBC's "Revolution."
