Streaker 'interrupts' Hayden Panettiere at MTV EMAs

mtv-emas-getty.jpgThis was clearly not a wardrobe malfunction.

Viewers of MTV's EMAs got an unexpected eyeful Sunday (Nov. 6) when a streaker hit the stage while Hayden Panettiere presented the award for Best Song. The man, later identified as Irish actor David Monahan, jumped around before siding up to Panettiere for an "impromptu" interview.

"You're in that show 'Heroes,' yeah?...I'm a big fan," he says. Panettiere then offers Monahan the chance to join her for a drink after the show.

This is probably the most famous, probably staged, award show streaking since the 1974 Oscars when Robert Opel dashed across the stage much to the dismay of host David Niven. This moment prompted Niven to say, "Isn't it fascinating to think that probably the only laugh that man will ever get in his life is by stripping off and showing his shortcomings?"

Of course MTV loves staging nudity. At the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, Sacha Baron Cohen (dressed as his character Bruno) descended from the ceiling only to have his bare behind end up in rapper Eminem's face. The rapper later admitted the whole event was planned.

If you'd like to see the full, uncensored version of the video, here's the link. But we must warn you, he's very naked.
