'Supernatural' preview: The Jersey Devil is not what it seems

spn-sam-dean-bobby-hunt.jpgThe "Supernatural" writers love to base their case-of-the-week stories on real monsters -- that is, the kind that have plenty of lore to back them up. In this week's episode, titled "How to Win Friends and Influence Monsters," the Winchester brothers take on the Jersey Devil. No, not Snooki.

"This episode begins with the guys catching wind of the possibility that the Jersey devil is attacking people in the woods," executive producer Sera Gamble says in a new video preview. "This episode was fun because it gave us the opportunity to actually have our hunters hunt in the woods, which is something that we don't get to do that much."

Directed by Guy Bee, the episode features a rather adorable scene in which Sam and Dean make it clear that they're cool with killing monsters, demons, people possessed by demons, ghosts, and the occasional witch, but they draw the line at woodland creatures. "I never could get you little grubs to pull the trigger on a single deer," Bobby says.

"You're talking about Bambi, man," Dean replies, because Dean is a sensitive soul who totally hearts Disney classics.

Bobby is sensitive, too: "You don't shoot Bambi, jackass. You shoot Bambi's mother."

Gamble warns fans that the episode features an unexpected twist or two. "It takes some pretty shocking left turns," she says. "This isn't, probably, the episode you want to get up and go to the bathroom in the middle of, and you definitely don't want to tune out before the end."

The CW, Friday night at 9 p.m. Be there. And for God's sake, use the restroom beforehand.
