We've been anxiously awaiting "Supernatural" Season 9 to find out the fate of Sam Winchester, especially once we found out he was dying (eek). Thanks to the newest batch of first look photos The CW released from Season 9 episode 2, "Devil May Care," we can put our worries to rest ... for now.

Looks like Sam will pull through after all, if photos of him walking, talking, and even smiling are any indication. He's certainly in much better shape than Crowley, who's still a captive of the Winchesters ... and looking a little worse for wear. Cue Kevin Tran's victorious smirk as he stands before the demon that once made his life a literal living hell.

Read the full official synopsis from the episode, airing Oct. 15:

"Dean shocks Sam by popping open the trunk of the Impala and showing him that he has kidnapped Crowley. Kevin (guest star Osric Chau) freaks out when he sees the King of Hell, but Sam and Dean convince him that they need Crowley to find the demons on Earth. Meanwhile, Abaddon (guest star Alaina Huffman) re-emerges and plans to take over Hell."
