'Survivor: Nicaragua's' Jane Bright: 'Chase was making promises to everybody'

jane-fabio-survivor.jpgJane Bright was blindsided on "Survivor: Nicaragua" Wednesday night (Dec. 15) when her own alliance that she thought was good until the final four turned on her. She tells Zap2it that she tried to get Dan and Fabio to side with her once she saw which way the wind was blowing, but they wouldn't.

Are you glad you went on "Survivor"? Was it everything you hoped it would be?

"And more. [ laughs] You know, just the opportunity to be selected and be part of a team of 20 people, I thought was pretty awesome. Then to get out there, play the game, win some challenges, do good, I thought it was great."

Why were you, Fabio and Dan so upset about not being taken on the reward. Only three people got to go, Chase couldn't take everybody.

"He had already said he was going to take Sash because Sash hadn't been on any rewards. But he promised Fabio, he promised Dan, Chase was making promises to everybody. He said to me 'you went on the last reward, I'm probably not gonna take you,' so I didn't mind staying back as long as I got to see my daughter a little bit. I was just upset because I knew this would be my daughter's last summer at home ... and then she told me my 16 year-old dog had passed away, so I was just in a upset mood. My point was just Fabio hadn't seen his mama except for like twice this whole year, so he should've been the one to go. Holly lives with her husband, she sees him all the time. Chase should've taken Fabio, but he had it in the back of his mind that the three of them were going to go to the finals and I was going to be the odd person out."

Jeff stirred things up at Tribal when he asked why you, Dan and Fabio weren't in an alliance. Why weren't you in an alliance? Why did you three at least try to tie the vote?

"I tried to talk Dan and Fabio out of it. I tried to get them on my side. I told Fabio if you don't win [immunity], you're going to be the next one to go. We discussed [voting Fabio out] down on the beach at night and the four of us going to the end and then voting Sash out if he didn't win the immunity. Somebody was going to get voted out of the four, we all knew that. But up until that point in time, we didn't discuss it. So I would've been happy to do that, but Dan and Fabio wouldn't do it. Each of them had been told by Sash and Chase that they were going to the final three. And they believed Chase and Sash. That's what they had been told, what they had been promised. And it's just really hard to get a man to make a decision and change things. If it had been two women sitting there, it might have worked out. Marty had put in Dan's head three men in the finale, three men in the finale, so that's where Dan's head was at."

Are you still mad at Chase, Holly and Sash? Or has that anger gone away in the months since it happened?

"At this point in time, I'm not answering that question."

Once you were voted out, who were you rooting for?

"We'll just have to wait and see what the finale brings on that one."

Any final thoughts or messages to your fans?

"If they liked the way I played, vote for me. Whoever they feel played the best game, that's who they should vote for for Fan Favorite. I was just happy I won the five I was nominated for, the Sprint Player of the Week. I had a great time playing the game, but I had the attitude win or lose, you're gonna have a great time doing this."

The three-hour "Survivor: Nicaragua" finale and reunion show airs Sunday, Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
