'Survivor: South Pacific's' Jim Rice: Cochran's bullying 'a bit sensationalized'

jim-rice-survivor.jpgJim Rice was one of the casualties of John Cochran turning on his Savaii tribemates on "Survivor: South Pacific." He tells Zap2it he does not regret what he said to Cochran, nor does he think Cochran was bullied.

Are you glad you did "Survivor"? Was it everything you expected or hoped it would be?

"So much more than I expected it would be. I'm thrilled that I did it."

Having watched the show, do you feel like Savaii excluded Cochran or maybe wasn't very nice to him? Or was it more of the edit the tribe got?

"Not at all. That's the most frustrating thing to even see. No. The viewers and the Upolu tribe are the people who have looked at Cochran and assumed that he was bullied. We all know that if there was bullying, it would've been shown on the air. That is a little bit frustrating. It's a tribe of really good people. You saw Whitney break down at Tribal ... we all echoed that same sentiment. It was a bit sensationalized and was made up more in Coach's and Upolu's minds."

You had some harsh words for Cochran after he flipped. Do you regret saying that? Are you better with him now?

"One word. Pretty much just one word. I said it, I meant it. You know, I think I was right. His decisions were based on fear, not on strategy. I said it. No regrets. I would've regretted not saying it."

Would you do "Survivor" again if asked?

"Of course I would! 90% of the people who do it would go back and do it in a minute."

Would you do anything differently if you could go back and do it all over?

"Definitely. I think anybody that doesn't win, at the end of the season there are 17 people who wish they would've done something differently."

Any final thoughts or messages to your fans?

"Thank you is a big one. Seeing how much enjoyment the fans and my friends and family get out of watching the show every week. I get a lot of hate messages and a lot of love messages, but I'm equally appreciative of both."

"Survivor" airs Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
