Susan Boyle finally makes it to 'America's Got Talent'

susanboyle_290.jpgThe long-promised American debut of Susan Boyle will become a reality on the season finale of "America's Got Talent" next week.

The "Britain's Got Talent" sensation will give her first stateside performance on Wednesday's (Sept. 16) two-hour finale, which will also crown this season's winner. None of the American contestants has yet reached household-name status like Boyle, but whoever does win will take home a million dollars and a contract to be a Las Vegas headliner.

NBC and the "Got Talent" producers have been teasing an appearance by Boyle for much of the summer, but it didn't come together until this week.

Boyle became an instant star following her "Britain's Got Talent" audition, where she sang "I Dreamed a Dream" from "Les Miserables" and won over a skeptical audience and judging panel. The YouTube video of her performance has been viewed more than 74 million times as of Friday afternoon.

She ended up finishing second in the "Britain's Got Talent" finals, but she has signed with Sony BMG and is currently recording an album. It's scheduled for release in November but has already hit No. 1 on Amazon thanks to pre-orders.
