Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber to perform at Billboard Music Awards
Swift and Bieber aren't the only two names the list. They'll be in the company of Prince, Bruno Mars and Miguel at the show, which will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 19.
The announcement doesn't come as too much of a shock. Swift, Bieber, Mars and Miguel are all up for this year's Milestone Artist award, honoring milestone achievements in the musicians' careers. The milestones in question?
Swift: Only woman to have had two albums sell one million copies in a week.
Mars: Scored his first four Hot 100 No. 1s, including "Locked Out of Heaven," faster than any male artist in almost 50 years.
Bieber: The first artist ever to have five No. 1s on the Billboard 200 before age 19.
Miguel: His hit single "Adorn" spent a record 22 weeks at No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
As for Prince? The legendary singer is being honored with the Billboard Icon Award this year, "highlighting his unique journey and history of groundbreaking accomplishments in music," according to a press release from ABC.
The Billboard Music Awards will air live at 8 p.m. ET, May 19, on ABC.
