Taylor Swift sort of confirms she is 'Never Ever' getting back together with Jake Gyllenhaal

Taylor Swift is continuing to make the rounds talking about her exes promoting her new album "Red," and her stop last Friday (Oct. 26) on Katie Couric's talk show "Katie" shed some light on her current state of mind. But, more importantly,  Swift, 22, also seemingly confirmed that a certain break-up anthem on "Red" is about her ex Jake Gyllenhaal, which is probably the closest we'll ever get to knowing for sure.

The song in question, of course, is "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." Swift says that while some ex-boyfriends write her "really long emails" about the songs she's penned about them, the person in "Never Ever" isn't someone who's reached out since the single debuted.

"I haven't heard from him since. I think I was just insistent enough this time," she tells Couric. When the "Katie" host explained that fans decided that song is about Jake Gyllenhaal because of the scarf Swift wears in the video, she responds, "I didn't know that that was a thing that people had figured out." Who knew Gyllenhaal was that sort of ex?

But Swift explains that life in the spotlight has made it hard for her to figure out what a normal relationship is. While some have decided that Swift is probably the crazy one, she says that she's still just trying to find balance in her life.

"I don't know how to have a normal relationship because I try to act normal and love from a normal place and live a normal life, but there is sort of an abnormal magnifying glass, like telescope lens, on everything that happens between me and anybody else. So I don't know how to do that correctly or anything. I don't really know that much about love, it turns out."

She also copes with her break-ups in different ways than we do (which, namely, are ice cream and romcoms). As evidenced in "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," Swift turns to music to work out her beef with her exes.

"The dust settles and I go to my own corner and actually figure out what I thought about [the relationship]," she says. "Sometimes I don't actually know how I feel about it until a write the song."
