Terry Bradshaw's father dies; NFL great not on FOX's Super Bowl coverage

terry-bradshaw-fox-sports.jpgWilliam "Bill" Bradshaw, the father of NFL Hall of Famer and FOX Sports analyst Terry Bradshaw, has died, the network says.

The elder Bradshaw, 86, died Thursday (Jan. 30) in Shreveport, La., after a long illness. Terry Bradshaw is with his family and therefore won't be part of FOX's Super Bowl coverage on Sunday (Feb. 2).

"On behalf of everyone at FOX Sports, we want to extend our deepest sympathy to Terry, his mother Novis, brothers Gary and Craig and the entire Bradshaw family," the network says in a statement. "All are in our thoughts and prayers today, and we respect their wishes for privacy during this very difficult time."

Michael Strahan took Bradshaw's place Sunday as part of FOX's pre-game coverage, with Chris Myers filling in for Strahan on red-carpet coverage.
