'The Bachelorette': Melissa Rycroft's advice for Ali

Melissa Rycroft's favorite guy from "The Bachelorette" is already gone, so she has "no idea" who Ali Fedotowsky's choice will be on Monday night (Aug. 2).

"Whoever you want to win is never the person who wins," says Rycroft, who will also be co-host of "The Bachelor Pad" on ABC starting Aug. 9. "For me, Frank was my front-runner. It seemed like they had great chemistry and got along, but he's out of the picture."

Whomever Ali chooses -- Chris or Roberto -- Rycroft does have some advice for making the relationship that comes after the show work.

"If she does pick someone, and they do give the relationship a shot, it's to give it a real shot and keep it private," Rycroft says in the clip above. "I think one of the worst mistakes -- and unfortunately I think we just saw this with Jake and Vienna -- is that when someone becomes so public so quickly, you don't really know how to handle it. ...

"The best way to make the relationship work is to take it out of the spotlight, keep it private. And if you want to pursue a public career, pursue the career publicly. Just keep that part of your life private."

"The Bachelorette" finale airs at 8 p.m. ET Monday on ABC.
