'The Cabin in the Woods' trailer and reviews: Wickedly good fun

scary-cabin-in-the-woods-at-night.jpg"The Cabin in the Woods" is the latest horror movie offering hitting theaters, but the buzz is that this Joss Whedon-penned project is not your father's horror movie. It is Drew Goddard's ("Lost," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Alias) directorial debut.

David Edelstein of New York Magazine writes, "Is it scary? Not especially. But there are enough gory surprises around every bend to keep you laughing/screaming/cringing."

Film.com's Eric D. Snider says, "The idea is to set up a movie we've seen a hundred times before, and then to rearrange it into something new and deliriously satisfying."

Peter Debruge of Variety writes, "Not since 'Scream' has a horror movie subverted the expectations that accompany the genre to such wicked effect as 'The Cabin in the Woods.'"

Digital Spy's Simon Reynolds says, "'Cabin in the Woods' is witty, scary and incredibly inventive. This is a must-see genre bending horror movie - miss it at your peril."

It definitely has us intrigued and we fear getting spoiled if we don't go see it this coming weekend. Will you be heading to the theaters? "Cabin in the Woods" opens nationwide Friday, April 13.
