'The Chicago Code,' 'Human Target,' others canceled: FOX makes room for the new

chicago-code-review-320.jpgIn our excitement about Fox's new pickups - like Zooey Deschanel's "The New Girl" - we almost forgot that in order to make room for the new, Fox has to axe the old.

In this case, we're saying goodbye to freshman drama " The Chicago Code" and comedies " Traffic Light" and " Breaking In." We've also seen the end of " Human Target."

"Human Target's" cancellation comes as no surprise. The action adventure series, starring Mark Valley as Christopher Chance, was relegated to Friday nights with its 13 episode season burned off by early February.

Shawn Ryan's police drama, "The Chicago Code," filmed on location in the Windy City, floundered in the ratings, as did "Traffic Light." We are definitely going to miss "Breaking In," which was surprisingly funny in its post-"American Idol" slot, though it struggled to maintain the "Idol" audience.

Ouch. Bloodbath.

EDIT: "Lie To Me" has also been scratched from the schedule.
