The CW renews 'Life Unexpected,' 'One Tree Hill,' picks up 'Nikita'

The network has renewed the bubble show for a sophomore season as well as an eighth round of the primetime soap "One Tree Hill," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"LUX" creator Liz Tigelaar took to Twitter to share her joy: "Season 2 Baby!!!!!!! Yippppeeeee! #lifeunexpected."

The CW has also picked up new series "Nikita," starring Maggie Q and based on the French action film about an assassin "La Femme Nikita" and the college cheerleading series "Hellcats."

The shows join the previously announced renewals for "America's Next Top Model," "Gossip Girl," "Supernatural," "The Vampire Diaries," "Smallville" and "90210."
