Another "Dexter" alum is heading to "The Following," but not in the role you might expect. Keith Carradine, who played FBI agent Frank Lundy on "Dexter," is joining Fox's serial killer drama in a recurring role, TVLine reports.

But instead of joining the already-bursting ranks of FBI agents on "The Following," Carradine will play Barry, a trusted friend of Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon).

Carradine is the seconde "Dexter" star to join the Fox drama. Current protege to the titular killer Sam Underwood is set to recur as Luke, a very complicated and dangerous young man who may or may not be a follower of the "late" Joe Carroll (James Purefoy).

Season 2 of "The Following" also recently cast James McDaniel, Valerie Cruz, Connie Nielsen, Jessica Stroup, and Tiffany Boone.

"The Following" returns to Fox in January 2014.
