'The Saint': Eliza Dushku and Adam Rayner revive the classic character for new series

A new version of "The Saint" starring Adam Rayner ("Hunted," "Hawthorne") as Simon Templar, a Robin Hood-esque master thief, could be coming to a TV screen near you. Eliza Dushku ("Dollhouse," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") also stars as Patricia Holm, Templar's on-and-off love interest in author Leslie Charteris' novels.

Jesse Alexander ("Alias," "Heroes") wrote the script for the new incarnation, which also features cameos by Roger Moore, who starred as The Saint in a long-running 1960s series, and Ian Ogilvy, who revived the character in the 1970s. Simon West ("Con Air," "Keen Eddie") directed it.

The show doesn't yet have a place to air, but its producers are hoping to change that by screening the pilot at the MIPTV market in Cannes next week.

"The Saint" also stars Enrique Murciano ("Without a Trace"), Thomas Kretschmann ("The River"), Greg Grunberg ("Heroes") and James Remar ("Dexter"). Take a look at the trailer for the series, first posted at Deadline:
