Star Candice Accola tells Zap2it that fans should look forward to the two Mystic Falls residents heading off to college, because it will mean some playful dialogue from "The Vampire Diaries" writers. "It's really fun," she says of on-camera college life while talking about the new season on the carpet for Entertainment Weekly's pre-Emmy Awards party. "We're going to get a really great kind of tongue-in-cheek tone to the dialogue as we enter into Season 5, but with really heavy crazy storylines."

Coming off the Season 5 premiere, which Zap2it has already previewed, Accola teases there are some really big episodes.

"The writers are going to keep you on your toes for a couple episodes. It's really great," she explains. "We're only eight episodes in and we still haven't figured out all the mysteries."

Also coming up is the big "Vampire Diaries" 100th episode. It's only weeks away from being filmed, and Accola says the entire cast is really looking forward to it.

"We're about to film our 100th episode in a couple of weeks, so it's been a really special season so far," she says. "The sentiment has been really heightened on the set, so it's been great."

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 premiere, "I Know What You Did Last Summer," airs on Oct. 3 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
