'The Voice': 'Paparazzi' cover doesn't impress the coaches

joshua-scott-hand.jpgJoshua Scott Hand was nervous when taking the stage for " The Voice" coaches, because he admits to relying on his looks and humor to boost his performances. "The coaches can't see me," said Hand. "So, I do feel a little bit stripped of my armor I put on when I perform."

"He uses humor to disperse anything," his mom said before Joshua took the stage.

Hand did a revamped guy-with-a-guitar version of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi," though we didn't really recognize it until he hit the chorus, because he's not too great at enunciating. Still, we dug his interpretation of the pop hit.

Blake Shelton apparently judged him not by his voice, but by his song choice. "Allow me to apologize," he said upon seeing the handsome Mr. Hand. "The guy sang a Lady Gaga song. That's cool, that's different, and maybe that's what threw me off. I don't know."

"I didn't know what song it was until the chorus," Adam Levine said. "I think it was a little shaky."
