'The Voice' results: And then there were 5 - Who made it to the semi-finals?

the-voice-results-top-5-semi-finals-nbc.jpgWe're nearing the beginning of the end, "Voice" fans. On Tuesday (Dec. 3), the lineup for Season 5's semi-finals was revealed, shaving the Top 6 down to a lean Top 5 with the season's final Instant Save used to determine the final slot. So, who went home?

Stretched throughout the hour, with host Carson Daly revealing one safe artist at a time (you know, to really make 'em sweat), the order of those safe went as follows: First, Team Christina's Jacquie Lee, followed by Team Blake's Cole Vosbury. They were followed by Team Adam's Tessanne Chin, leaving her team mates Will Champlin and James Wolpert and Team Christina's Matthew Schuler to round out the bottom three.

The final artist safe, moving on to next week's semi-finals was revealed to be Will, leaving James and Matt to battle it out for that final Instant Save. With Christina having been in this situation with Matt last week and Adam's full team at risk of being split, Carson looked to both coaches to make one final plea for their at-risk artist.

"This was bound to happen at some point. We've had an amazing run," Adam said of his team as a whole, before making the case for the Twittersphere to give an under-the-weather James another opportunity to really prove what he could do.

Christina followed, arguing on behalf of Matt, saying, "I'm going back to that magic moment...You went down in history as the first person on this show to get all four coaches to smack their button...I believe in this guy. I wanna sing with you again."

After breaking for commercial to let America have their time to vote, Carson turned to Blake and CeeLo for their predictions. "I don't know. I thought you might ask me this and I don't want to sway anybody's thoughts out there," Blake said, before adding he'd seen quite a few votes for James on his own Twitter feed. "You two have been just two of the most accomplished, dynamic...very special and significant people here," CeeLo added. "I think it will be a really even, fair fight between these two."

And in the end, it proved that America isn't so willing to offer an Instant Save to the same person two weeks in a row, with Matt getting the boot and James moving on by the skin of his teeth.

Did the right five move on to the semi-finals? Or should Matt have gotten to stick around? Sound off in the comments below!
