'The Walking Dead': Season 3 preview weekend coming up in July

twd-s2-finale-group.jpgFans -- or potential fans -- of AMC's "The Walking Dead" should cancel all plans for the weekend of July 7 and 8. That's when the cable network will air all 19 episodes of the zombie apocalypse drama along with a black-and-white remake of the show's original pilot and first-look scenes from Season 3.

The black-and-white pilot was, according to a press release, "created specifically for fans of 'The Walking Dead,' as it holds true to the original black and white comic book, written by Robert Kirkman."

So does that mean that some characters will die in the pilot that (cough -- Shane -- cough) made it through almost two seasons on AMC?

The zombie fest will also include a special edition of "The Talking Dead" -- the network's talk show dedicated to discussing "TWD" -- that explores some of the Season 3 sets and talks to celebrity (?) fans.

All of this will unfold just a week before Comic-Con, where many networks traditionally release sizzle reels for upcoming seasons. We're assuming AMC's saving something special for SDCC fans, too.
