'The X Factor' taps Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars for Wednesday's show

Kelly Clarkson will perform on Wednesday's (Nov. 23) results show in support of her new album "Stronger." Bruno Mars, fresh off his American Music Awards win for favorite male pop/rock artist, will also take the "X Factor" stage.

Clarkson will perform the title track from the album, "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)," on Wednesday's show. She'll sing in front of two former "Idol" judges, Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul, who helped make her the first "American Idol" winner in 2002.

Mars, meanwhile, is set to sing his hit "It Will Rain."

Oh, and two of the remaining nine acts will be sent home as well in the first double elimination of the final rounds. Tuesday's performance show will feature the finalists doing songs tied to the theme of "Giving Thanks." It's probably too much to hope that one of them does a rendition of Adam Sandler's "Thanksgiving Song," but our fingers are crossed nonetheless.

"The X Factor" this week airs at 8 p.m. ET Tuesday and Wednesday on FOX.
