The actor has reportedly left the Marvel Comics adaptation of "Thor" over creative differences, just as production was beginning, reports the AP, who talked to anonymous sources.

The role of Fandral, Thor's ally, will now go to relative unknown Joshua Dallas.

The Kenneth Branagh-directed film starring Chris Hemsworth in the title role starts shooting Monday and has been scheduled for a May 6, 2011 release.

The movie co-stars Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Renee Russo and Tom Hiddleston.
