Tom Cruise may countersue Katie Holmes in divorce case
Cruise's lawyer, Bert Fields, says the "Rock of Ages" and "Mission Impossible" star will likely file a countersuit against Holmes, but Fields is not tipping his hand as to where or when.
"Tactically we can't say where Tom will file a divorce case and if he'll be seeking joint custody of Suri," his and Holmes' 6-year-old daughter, Fields tells the BBC. But it does sound like a response is coming.

"We are letting 'the other side' play the media until they wear everyone out, and then we'll have something to say," Fields adds. "It's not Tom's style to do this publicly. He is really sad about what's happening."
Holmes' divorce filing -- she's seeking sole custody of Suri -- last week seemed to catch Cruise by surprise, and all manner of speculation about the reasons for the split, a lot of it focusing on Cruise's Scientology beliefs, has followed. Other than issuing a statement saying he's "deeply saddened" by Holmes' court filing, though, Cruise himself has remained mostly silent on the matter.
