'Touch's' David Mazouz: 'I want to take Ryan Seacrest's job'

david-mazouz-touch-fox.jpgDavid (pronounced Dah-veed) Mazouz barely talks on FOX's "Touch" but he has a lot to say, and much of it profound, considering he's 12.

The drama returns Friday, April 26, for what could be its final three episodes.

"I describe Jake as a spirit because he sees the world connections through these numbers, and it is really cool," David says of his character.

Jake, David says, "is on a higher level than most human beings, and he can see things beyond the physical layer, and that is what makes the show spiritual. That myth that there is a string tied around everyone's ankle, a Chinese myth, and whenever anybody needs to go or meet somebody, it will stretch. That is what the show is about."

Though an old soul, David is in sixth grade, and in keeping with the show's theme, his favorite subject is math. In between, David is studying to become a bar mitzvah, and as is customary, is doing community service.

He's donating to charities, including those to stop genocide in Darfur. Though it's unusual to associate a tousle-haired boy with a bucket list, David volunteers his.

"I want to take Ryan Seacrest's job," he says. "I want his job on 'American Idol.' I want to be host of 'SNL.' I want to work with Steven Spielberg, Leonardo DiCaprio, J.J. Abrams, Emma Stone and Tim Burton, Sean Penn, Cameron Crowe. I want to work with Adam Sandler -- he is so funny -- and Tina Fey and Amy Poehler."

For now, though, his mother was taking him for a haircut, and then he had homework to do. The next day he was going to audition for a movie shooting in Argentina. If he books it, the paycheck was going to where all of his earnings have gone -- his college fund.
