TV ratings: 'Alcatraz' and Betty White solid Monday, but CBS wins the night
The premiere of "Alcatraz" on FOX Monday night drew a good-sized audience for FOX, topping the premiere of "Terra Nova" in the fall. Betty White's 90th birthday special also scored well for NBC, drawing far better than the network has on Mondays this season.
Neither FOX nor NBC could push CBS out of the top spot for the night, however. The Eye was off a bit in viewers from its last night of originals two weeks ago but improved on its adults 18-49 numbers.
CBS averaged 11.1 million viewers and a 6.9 rating/10 share in households for the evening, holding off NBC (10.8 million, 6.9/10) to take the top spot. FOX (10 million, 6.0/9) wasn't far behind in third. ABC finished fourth with a little over 8 million viewers and a 5.5/8, while The CW (1.05 million, 0.7/1) was way off the pace.
CBS also led the 18-49 demographic with a 3.8 rating. FOX took second with 3.3, followed by ABC at 2.4. Meager demo numbers for "Rock Center" pushed NBC down to fourth with a 2.2. The CW came in at 0.5.
