Fast National ratings for Friday, Oct. 4, 2013

With no more season premieres, proven successes on CBS and ABC won Friday night. "Blue Bloods" won the night, with more than 11 million viewers in the 10 p.m. hour, while "Shark Tank" took the lead in the 18-49 demo.

CBS actually led every hour in terms of total viewers, with ABC following close behind. That makes sense, since both networks offered a full night of original programming, up against reruns for at least part of the schedule on NBC, FOX and The CW.

Although it was, as always, low-rated in the 18-49 demo (with a 1.4 rating), "Blue Bloods" dominated Friday with an impressive 11.1 million viewers at 10 p.m. The show's lead-in, "Hawaii Five-0," was the second-highest-rated program of the night with 9.6 million tuning in.

ABC's comedy, "Last Man Standing," proved solid with 6.2 million watching, while "The Neighbors" shed 2 million of those viewers in the second half hour. "Shark Tank," at 9 p.m. proved to be the highest-rated show in the demo and earned 6.3 viewers overall.

Over on NBC, a night of comedy repeats and "Dateline: NBC" stayed quiet, while FOX's "MasterChef: Junior" beat the Peacock network at 8 p.m. A repeat of "Sleepy Hollow" -- just renewed by FOX for a second season -- brought in more than 2 million additional viewers for the show.

A repeat of new drama "The Originals," followed by "America's Next Top Model," proved to be a steady and low-rated night for The CW. Viewership never topped 1.1 million throughout the evening.

CBS led the networks' Friday programming with 9.4 million viewers and a 6.0 rating/11 share in households. ABC (5.8 million, 3.8/7) came in second, ahead of NBC (4.9 million, 3.3/6). FOX was in fourth with 3.1 million viewers and a 1.9/3. The CW only drew 1.1 million viewers and a 0.7/1.

ABC narrowly edged CBS when it came to adults 18-49, with ABC's 1.5 rating trumping a 1.4 on CBS. NBC and FOX were also close in the demo, with 1.1 and 1.0 ratings, respectively. The CW trailed in this statistic as well, averaging only a 0.4 rating.
