TV ratings: 'Bones' premiere solid Thursday, 'Big Bang Theory' and 'Vampire Diaries' up
"Bones" began its seventh season Thursday with solid ratings, drawing its best premiere audience in three years. Elsewhere, "The Vampire Diaries" hit a season high for The CW, "The Big Bang Theory" improved and NBC's lineup rose a bit without World Series competition.
CBS led the night in viewers, drawing 12.9 million people and an 8.0 rating/13 share in households. FOX (10.65 million, 6.3/10) was a healthy second. ABC came in third with 7.1 million viewers and a 4.9/8, followed by NBC (4.5 million, 2.9/5). The CW drew 2.8 million viewers and a 1.7/3.
FOX earned a narrow win in the adults 18-49 demographic, scoring a 3.4 rating to beat CBS' 3.3. ABC took third with a 2.4, followed by NBC, 1.9, and The CW, 1.2.
