TV ratings: CBS comedies rule Monday, American Country Awards rise
The second American Country Awards drew a bigger audience for FOX than the inaugural show did last year, but they still played second fiddle to CBS on Monday. The Eye led all three hours of primetime, and "How I Met Your Mother" and "2 Broke Girls" were both up a good amount over their last original episodes.
CBS averaged 12.3 million viewers and a 7.7 rating/12 share in households for the night, leading second-place FOX (7.4 million, 4.5/7) by a wide margin. ABC came in third with 6.55 million viewers and a 3.9/6. NBC (4 million, 2.4/4) took fourth, and The CW trailed with 1.5 million viewers and a 1.0/2.
CBS also dominated the adults 18-49 demographic -- its 4.0 rating doubled the 2.0 for FOX, which finished second. ABC grabbed third with a 1.8, followed by NBC, 1.0, and The CW, 0.7.
