TV Ratings: CBS, 'CSI: NY' top Friday night

CBS took the night with new episodes of "Medium" and "CSI: NY" and a rerun of "The Mentalist." The Friday night news programs of "Primetime, "Dateline" and "20/20" were good for NBC and ABC to almost tie in second.

CBS led with 8.1 million viewers and a 5.1 rating/9 share among households. NBC was second at 5.1 million, 3.2/6 and ABC was a close third with 5.0 million, 3.3/6. FOX was not far behind at 4.7 million, 2.8/5 and the CW's reruns were good for 1.6 million, 1.0/2.

In the 18-49 demo, CBS also won (1.5), but NBC (1.4), ABC (1.3) and FOX (1.2) were right behind. The CW was last with 0.6

FOX: "Human Target" (4.7 million viewers, 2.8/5 households)
ABC: "Supernanny" (4.6 million, 3.0/5)
NBC: "Minute to Win It" rerun (4.5 million, 2.7/5)
The CW: "Smallville" rerun (1.7 million, 1.1/2)

18-49 leader: "Medium," "Human Target" (tie, 1.3)

CBS: "CSI: NY" (9.5 million, 6.0/10)
ABC: "Primetime: What Would You Do?" (5.0 million, 3.1/5)
NBC: "Dateline: NBC" (4.9 million, 3.2/6)
FOX: "Human Target" (4.8 million, 3.2/6)
The CW: "Supernatural" rerun (1.4 million, 0.8/1)

10 p.m.
