TV Ratings: 'Fringe' holds steady, NBC wins the night

"Dateline" helped lead NBC to a ratings victory over the NCAA tournament on CBS on Thursday night, as the two-hour block averaged 7 million viewers. The NCAA tournament was down from Thursday night, leaving CBS to take third in the ratings. "Fringe" held on to most of its viewers, averaging 3.7 million, and its demographic ratings were up.

NBC's 6.1 million viewers and 4.2 rating/8 share in households dominated the night, leaving ABC to take second place (4.7, 3.1/6). CBS took third with 4.5 million viewers and a 2.9/5. NBC (3.7 million, 2.3/4) came in fourth, and The CW trailed with 1.4 million viewers and a 0.8/1.

CBS ruled the adults 18-49 demographic with a 1.5 rating (thanks to the NCAA tournament) and FOX came in a close second with 1.4. ABC was the best of the rest at 1.3, followed by NBC's 1.2. The CW posted a 0.5 in the demo.
