The first round of the NFL draft and the NBA playoffs appear to have siphoned some viewers from the broadcast networks Thursday, as ratings were down pretty much across the board.

"American Idol" scored its lowest 18-49 rating ever for a regularly scheduled episode. "The Big Bang Theory" was off about 15 percent in both viewers and adults 18-49 compared to its last new episode. "Hannibal" scored series lows for NBC, and "The Vampire Diaries" didn't get any extra traction with its "Originals" planted spinoff episode.

There was a bit of good news: "Scandal" returned from a three-week hiatus to tie its series high in adults 18-49.

CBS led the night with 11.9 million viewers and a 7.5 rating/12 share in households. FOX (8.2 million, 5.0/8) came in second, beating ABC's 6.4 million viewers and 4.4/7. NBC (2.45 million 1.7/3) finished fourth, and The CW (1.7 million, 1.2/2) trailed.

CBS also topped the 18-49 demo with a 2.6 rating. ABC and FOX tied for second at 2.2. NBC managed only a 1.1, while The CW drew a 0.7.
