TV viewing was up Wednesday on three of the big four networks, with "Law & Order: Los Angeles," "The Defenders" and ABC's comedies all improving on their totals from last week (in viewers anyway; demographic results were a mixed bag). There was no change at the top, however, as CBS kept its hold on first place.

The Eye delivered 12.1 million viewers and a 7.3 rating/12 share for the night. FOX's baseball playoff coverage averaged 8.8 million viewers and a 5.2/9 (subject to change because of the live telecast). NBC (7.5 million, 4.9/8) narrowly beat ABC (7.3 million, 4.6/8) for third place. The CW (2.3 million, 1.5/2) trailed.

CBS also led the adults 18-49 demo with a 3.1 rating, topping FOX's 2.7. ABC came in third with a 2.5, followed by ABC, 2.1, and The CW, 1.0.
