TV ratings: March Madness is a slam dunk for CBS

There was only one show strong enough to knock March Madness basketball from its No. 1 perch, and that was "Shark Tank." B-ball won the Friday 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. time slots handily for CBS, but ABC had a momentary rebound at 9 p.m. with an original episode of "Tank."

CBS led the night overall with 6.4 million viewers and a 4.1 rating/7 share in households, besting ABC (5.0 million, 3.3/6) at second place. NBC (4.0 million, 2.6/5) came in a distant third. FOX drew 2.5 million viewers and a 1.6/3, while The CW brought up the rear with 947,000 viewers and a 0.6/1.

CBS held the lead among adults 18-49 at 1.9. ABC was second at 1.3, followed by NBC at 1.0, FOX, 0.7, and The CW, 0.3.
