Ratings for NBC's coverage of the Summer Olympics Monday night dropped some from Sunday's program, but the network still brought in huge numbers for the night with coverage of swimming, men's gymnastics and beach volleyball.

Elsewhere, FOX and CBS went with reruns. ABC, however, aired new episodes of "Bachelor Pad" and "The Glass House," and both shows declined sharply from last week.

NBC averaged 31.4 million viewers and a 17.9 rating/28 share among households in primetime. CBS (3.8 million, 2.6/4) came in second. ABC (2.9 million, 2.1/3) edged FOX (2.85 million, 1.8/3) for third. The CW managed only 440,000 viewers and a 0.3/0.

In the adults 18-49 demographic, NBC's 10.5 rating was down from Sunday's 11.4 but more than doubled the combined total of the other four networks. FOX drew a 1.1 for second place, followed by CBS, 1.0; ABC, 0.9; and The CW, 0.2.
