TV ratings: Soft starts for '90210,' 'Melrose Place' Tuesday

The premieres of "90210" and "Melrose Place" posted pretty weak numbers Tuesday, even against summer shows on the other networks. The CW remained mired in last place for the night.

NBC led the way with 10.1 million viewers and a 6.2 rating/10 share in households. CBS (8.4 million, 5.4/9) came in second. FOX took third with just under 6 million viewers and a 3.5/6, followed by ABC (4.3 million, 2.9/5). The CW averaged 2.4 million viewers and a 1.8/3.

FOX scored a win in the adults 18-49 demographic, drawing a 2.7 rating. NBC finished second at 2.4, followed by CBS at 2.1. ABC averaged 1.6 and The CW 1.3.
