'Twilight's' Kristen Stewart's 'The Yellow Handkerchief' being released

kristen-stewart-yellow-handkerchief copy.jpgIf fans can't wait for more Kristen Stewart between "New Moon" and "Eclipse," perhaps "The Yellow Handkerchief" will tide them over. Trailer below.

"The Yellow Handkerchief" is a 2008 independent film with a limited released but has now found a distributor in Samuel Goldwyn Films.

"Handkerchief" stars Kristen Stewart as Martine, a girl who meets a young traveler named Gordy (Eddie Redmayne) and a man just released from prison named Brett (William Hurt). They set off on a journey through the Louisiana bayou.

Via the press release, the film "had an exclusive, self-released one-week awards-qualifying run last year in LA, and has played in multiple film festivals across the globe, ranging from Sundance Film Festival to Hong Kong INternational Film Festival. And now the wait is over and Samuel Goldwyn Films will be bringing this touching independent film to theaters on February 12th, 2010, just in time for Valentine's Day."

yellowhandkerchiefposter.JPGInteresting how a movie will find the light of day once one of its stars is in the most popular franchise in the country. Or as our new writer Elizabeth Snead says, "Some lame movie she made that never got distribution is being dragged out just like Rob's stinker 'The Haunted Airman.'"
