'Unforgettable' may not be dead yet: Lifetime, TNT interested in canceled CBS show
TNT and Lifetime have each had talks with the show's producers, Sony Pictures TV and CBS Studios, about picking up the show for a second season, Deadline reports. Discussions are still in their early stages.
"Unforgettable" was one of the highest-rated shows to get the ax this season, averaging 12 million viewers and a 2.5 rating among adults 18-49. It starred Poppy Montgomery as a former detective with a near-perfect memory who consults with the Queens homicide squad led by her ex ( Dylan Walsh).
The show would be a decent fit with either TNT, which has several female-lead crime shows on its schedule -- and will lose flagship series "The Closer" at the end of the summer -- or Lifetime, which has tried and failed to launch a couple of procedurals in the recent past. A cable pickup could come with some budget cuts, but as a relatively young series "Unforgettable" likely isn't super-expensive to produce.
