Video remix: Evolution of Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' by PV Nova

Want to listen to Daft Punk's hit single, "Get Lucky" in a new way? This remix video is a good choice.

The remix comes from the French musician and composer known as PV Nova. To better understand what's going on with this video, keep in mind that this is a guy who describes himself on YouTube as a "musician, comedian, blogger and ninja."

This new version takes the dance-music track and follows it through the decades, presenting "Get Lucky" in a style appropriate to that time. The result is quite impressive.

You may want to compare this new remix to the original. They're a little different.

"Get Lucky" was co-written by performers Daft Punk with Pharrell Williams and Nile Ridgers. The lead single off the group's latest studio album, "Random Access Memories," was first released as a digital download on April 19, 2013. A fast hit, "Get Lucky" broke the record for the highest number of plays in a single day on Spotify. It reportedly took about 18 months to get the song right.

The original "Get Lucky" track has already hit number 1 in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Venezuela. In the United States -- hardly the center of the dance music scene -- "Get Lucky" has reached the number 3 spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
