The hacker group Anonymous is pooling all their resources to attack the nation's most heinous hate purveyors, Westboro Baptist Church.

Led by Shirley Phelps-Roper, the Westboro group has made a name for itself with distasteful demonstrations outside military funerals, public schools, and celebrity memorials.

In perhaps its most disgusting act yet, Westboro has announced plans to picket Sandy Hook Elementary School, the site of the Newtown, Conn. massacre, "to sing praise to God for the glory of his work in executing his judgment." The announcement was made via Phelps-Roper's Twitter account, which has since been suspended.

The so-called "hacktivists" at Anonymous, whose previous cyber victims include News Corp. and the Pentagon -- and who recently used their powers for good to out the cyber bullies behind the suicide of teen Amanda Todd -- have responded in kind to Westboro's announcement with a proclamation of their own.

In a video posted to Vimeo, Anonymous warns Phelps-Roper and her organization of their impending doom.

"We have seen your depraved methods of disseminating your message of hate throughout the United States of America," the video says in a computer-generated voice. it goes on to accuse Westboro's members of "mangling the Biblical text to perform in accordance with your malevolent cause."

Anonymous warns Westboro ominously, "Your downfall is underway."

Time reports Anonymous claims to have obtained social security numbers of Westboro members, and has filed a death certificate for Phelps-Roper. The hackers also took down Westboro's website, and published the home addresses and phone numbers of several Westboro devotees.

The Anonymous video forebodes, "We recognize you as serious opponents and do not expect our campaign to terminate in a short period of time ... We will waste no time, money, effort, and enjoyment in tearing your resolve into pieces."
