There's been a lot of rumor and conjecture about who are possibilities to replace Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger as judges on "The X Factor." Well, we finally have confirmation that at least one of these stories is true.

In an interview with "Extra," Eddie Cibrian admitted that his wife, singer LeAnn Rimes, has been meeting with show producers about the open position. "They've been talking," Cibrian says. "I have no idea what's going on with that. I think they've been talking to a lot of people."

He adds he thinks his wife would be particularly adept at the job, specifically the mentoring process.

"I think she would be unbelievable on a show like that...As a mentor, which is key for that show 'The X Factor,' I think she has a lot of great input and actually could an help these people out...Plus, she can sing," Cibrian says.

It was reported that on March 7 that Rimes was believed to have met with show producers although the network and show execs have been mum on the matter. Other names being thrown about for a spot on the singing competition include Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne and Katy Perry.
