'X Factor' Top 10 results: Khaya Cohen, Tim Olstad or Carlito Olivero, who goes home?
At the top of the hour, the act that is the lowest vote-getter and therefore leaves without a chance to sing for the save is ... Khaya Cohen. Wow. That is kind of a stunning result. She was one of the top vocalists both weeks here since America has been voting. Terrible.
When there are more results -- after One Direction performs -- the two that have to sing for their lives are Tim Olstad and Carlito Olivero. For my money, this isn't even close. Tim is a much stronger singer than Carlito. But we'll see.
For Tim's save song, his call is Josh Groban's "You Raise Me Up," which is good choice for him. He really shines on stuff like this.
For Carlito, the call is "Beneath Your Beautiful" by Labrinth. It's better than "Satisfaction" from last night by a mile and actually might make this a contest. This is hip, current and Carlito sounds good -- though it's not perfect. He has a few bum notes here and there. But is Tim in trouble? Very possibly.
When the judges vote, Kelly Rowland votes to send Tim home, citing this performance right here. Demi Lovato chooses to send Tim home too, so that's probably all she wrote. And then yes, Paulina Rubio sends Tim home. Interesting. You have to wonder what the votes would've been without the save song.
For us, the much bigger shame tonight is Khaya Cohen's elimination. That's really too bad.
