Bruce Willis is ready to go behind the camera to make his directing debut.

The "Hudson Hawk" star will direct Camilla Belle and Kieran Culkin in "Three Stories About Joan," an independent drama.

Willis will also take a supporting role in the feature, which will begin shooting in early October in Shreveport. In addition, the busy "Die Hard" star will also produce through his newly formed Willis Brothers Films shingle.

The news of Willis' directorial plans first broke online last week, a fact conveniently absent in Wednesday's (Sept. 24) Variety story.

Based on a script by Christopher Alexander and Sam Applebaum, "Three Stories of Joan" stars Belle as a young woman at three tragic points in her life. Willis will play the main character's father.

As an actor, Willis was most recently seen in "Live Free or Die Hard." He has upcoming roles in "What Just Happened" and "Assassination of a High School President" and just completed work on "The Surrogates" for Disney.
