NFL preseason football once again boosted a network on Sunday night, though this week it was NBC instead of FOX. The Bengals-Cardinals game handed the Peacock a win in total viewers, though those numbers will change when adjusted for timezones.
Elsewhere, “Big Brother” was up nearly half a million viewers for CBS and nearly half a point in the 18-49 demo, which is a season high for the reality show, and the “Rising Star” finale was up for ABC, drawing its biggest audience in three weeks.
Also on CBS, “Unforgettable” was up slightly while “Reckless” was down slightly, but the full night of original programming still turned in solid numbers for the network.
NBC eked out a win over CBS, earning 6.55 million viewers and a 4.2 rating/7 share in households to the Eye’s 6.51 million viewers and a 4.1 rating/7 share. ABC was third with 3.1 million and a 2.0/3, followed by FOX at 2.5 million and a 1.5/3.
In the adults 18-49 demographic, NBC’s margin of victory was much larger, earning a 1.8 to CBS’ 1.3. FOX earned a 1.0 and ABC trailed with 0.8.
